No person in the Bible believed that. People tend to rely on Church-going, as if connecting with a church is the same as connecting with Christ. But church connections – with their activities and ceremonies – don’t mean you’re connecting with Christ.

The Bible says, “Abraham believed God.” If you believe God, you must know what God said. Abraham didn’t believe a great orator, a pastor, a devotional book, a manufactured creed, or a religious ceremony: he believed God. Are you like Abraham? Do you know what God has said? Do you believe what God has said? The only way to know what God said is by reading the written Word. Paul said he completed the Word of God; therefore, I am looking for no other “revelations” outside the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures. The Sacred Scriptures are sufficient and supreme for the believer.

God’s Word is a Rock that will stand any amount of scrutiny. It’s a lamp unto our feet, and close examination will never extinguish its flame. The Scriptures welcome the most detailed investigation, calling on people to think upon them and plunge themselves into their study. The Scriptures are deep, but I prefer to drown in them rather than be battered to death by the waves of ignorance, error, and superstition. The Scriptures call those who meditate upon them day and night blessed, which means happy. I am one of those happy people. I invite you to experience the same joy with me.

Many think that being a Christian is about believing that there is a God, going to Church once in a while, being good, and then going to heaven when you die.
