To be subjected is to be placed under the authority of another. God is the ultimate authority: He is subject to nobody. However, he delegated temporary authority to His Son. Why? To eliminate sin and death and bring every being back to God – EVERY BEING. Once He accomplishes His mission, then Jesus will become just like us. There will be one God, the Father, and all humans, including Jesus, His children, enjoying full equality. The only title that will remain is Father, because His goal is one big happy family.

Jesus will one day cease to be Lord, King, Priest, or any other role that implies mediation. Why? Because titles like Prophet, Priest, King, and Savior imply the presence of rebellion, sin, death, and distance from God. But Jesus is so good at these jobs that one day we won’t need them anymore: He is a SUCCESSFUL Savior.

Let’s trace the Lord’s career:

A. Great Power: Form of God (Ph. 2)

—-B. Emptied Himself – to go to the cross (Ph. 2)

A. Great Power: Highly Exalted – granted a name above every name (Ph. 2)

—-B. Subjected – So that God may become all in all – total human equality (1 Cor. 15)

His greatest act of humility is yet to come: When He subjects everything to Himself, He will be giving up that kingdom to His God and Father, then He will be subjected to the Father, that God may become everything to everyone!

Rejoice!

I Corinthians 15:28 reads, “Whenever all may be subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also shall be subjected to Him Who subjects all to Him, that God may be All in all.” What...

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[1

post-17924","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
