Through The Constitution, Lesson 9: Justice with regard to American Citizens

Worthless paper money and unjust state laws together created animosity, a decline in the work ethic, and tarnished the reputation of republican government. The first principles of justice, in relation to contracts, was being violated without blushing. 

The founders believed a more perfect union would establish justice by honoring debts, removing animosities between citizens, states, and foreign nations, and, as a result, putting us on high moral ground individually and publicly.
